This assessment provides statistical probability and mathematical interpretation based on validated clinical equations. It is not a diagnostic tool.
Functional Threshold Power (FTP) is the highest average power you can maintain for one hour. It is the gold standard for cyclists to set their training zones and measure aerobic improvements. This tool estimates your FTP based on a 20-minute maximum effort test.
The concept of FTP was popularized by Dr. Andrew Coggan in the early 2000s, transforming cycling from a sport of 'feel' to a sport of 'physics'.
The 20-minute test is mentally taxing. Ensure you are well-rested and have a strong fan—overheating will drop your power by 10-15 Watts easily.
